coming up… NEXT!!

To My Goofy Grey Goobers,

Writing this post as I’m getting ready to show my senior thesis project as part of GW’s NEXT Festival, and honestly… it feels a little surreal. I truly have always been waiting for this moment, always imagining it way in the distance, but now I am standing face to face. This whole past year has been a blur of sewing, performing, editing, doubting, and getting back at it again. I’ve been building myself as Jared and GREY throughout my whole experience. Grey has undergone so much transformation as my drag identity, as an extension of my art practice, and this showcase is the first time I’m putting it all out there in one space.

You’ll see pieces I’ve made by hand, photos I’ve edited, and footage from shows where I’ve been experimenting with what drag looks like for me. It’s not perfect, and that’s kind of the point. It’s all about the process—trying things, learning, pushing my own boundaries, and figuring out what clicks. I’m excited (and nervous) to share it.

The show opens April 18th at the Corcoran Flagg Building. If you’re in DC, I’d love for you to come. I’ll be performing as GREY that night and showing work that’s a mix of fashion, performance, and everything in between.

Thanks for following along with my work, I can’t wait and I hope to see you there.
