its a Chain Reaction

Sometimes, a look just needs more. More drama, more details, more Grey. This was one of those times.

This full-body suit and harness set is handmade by me ofc—from the first stitch to the last chain link. The first time I wore it, I liked it, but I didn’t love it. Something was missing. The harness felt a little too simple, too expected. So, I went back, added more chains, adjusted the structure, and pushed the design further. And damn, I’m glad I did.

The Process

Let’s talk commitment. This outfit started with a rich blue velvet bodysuit—simple, sleek, but it needed some edge. Take a peak at some of my pre process shots below!

Enter: metal rings, layered chains, and structured harness elements. Without going further I need to give credit where is so much deserved and due. My drag mom, Crimsyn, guided me through so much of my process from styling choices, keeping me company while I worked, and shared her expertise and experiences when she had made similar work. Also not to mention she helped shape the wig that I wore for the shoot.

For this round, I focused on balance—tough meets elegant, armor meets softness. The chains had to be just right, the links layered in a way that moved with my body. And let’s not forget the test run—I wore the look out once before this shoot. Seeing it in motion, on stage, under lights, gave me all the feedback I needed. More layers. More weight. More impact.

The Look, The Shoot, The Moment

On shoot day, I did my own edits in Photoshop to bring out the drama in the shots. The makeup? Sharp, icy, and matching the cool-toned fantasy of the outfit. My selfie from that day too gives a little behind-the-scenes peek before Grey fully took over. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a concept evolve—from mannequin to mirror, from test run to final look. This shoot was about proving to myself that I could push my work further, and that the details matter.

Final Thoughts

This outfit represents something I love about drag—it’s never really done. It’s an ongoing process, a challenge to outdo myself every time. Whether it’s sewing, styling, or capturing the final moment in a shoot, every step is a chance to grow.

Swipe through the pics to see the process in action—from initial stages to test runs, to the final boss-level look. And trust me, this won’t be the last chain-covered masterpiece you see from me.

Let me know what you think—what would you add to take this even further?
